Energy Medicine - What You Should Know -- By Carly Nuday

Many people seeking health and wellness are turning to alternative methods and 'energy medicine' after either being failed by Western medicine, or in opposition to the practices and failings of Western medicine itself. But in an Information Age where there is an abundance of misleading, contradicting, and unclear messages, it becomes important to know some truth about energy medicine and how its discoveries might aid your own personal health and wellness.
The human energy system and bio-energetics have been observed using various diagnostic tools and photographic imaging technologies such as advanced bio-feedback devices, bio-scans, Kirlian cameras and electro-photonic aura imaging, and poly-interference photography (PIP). These methods usually involve measuring frequencies of electrical output at various points of the body, or create images based on the different frequencies emitted by the body's energetic systems. These different frequencies are converted into visible light, providing a viewable contrast of the differences in the quality of energy. Technologies such as PIP and the various bio-scans on the market are able to give us workable comparable models and real time imaging. These technologies also provide additional evidence of the existence of a "venous" energy system, discovered in the 1960's and practiced in Traditional Chinese Medicine for thousands of years as the meridian system in acupuncture. These images also support the ancient India system of "chakras" (Sanskrit for 'wheel') or "energy centers", where meridians or channels of energy intersect, creating a spinning energy center at these points. The strongest and most prominent chakras are located along the spine. The discovery in Western science of the electrical axis along the spinal column present in embryonic development prior to the formation of the spine, brain, heart, or vessels, also lends support to this system.
It has now been demonstrated in Western science that physical dysfunction and symptoms are preceded by as much as weeks and even months, through viewable changes in the energetic systems of an individual. This has led many to the conclusion that the physical symptoms and expressions of illness or dysfunction are caused by the imbalance viewed in the energy systems.
As symptoms of physical dis-ease are preceded by the changes, disruptions, or disharmonies of the body's energy systems and field, it is logical to alleviate or prevent physical symptoms at their source by restoring the highly responsive energy systems of an individual to proper function, i.e. health and balance.
The human energy system is incredibly dynamic and complex. It is affected by past experiences and our perceptions of them, by traumatic events, our diets, lifestyles, environments, our relationships with our self and others, our spiritual health, other energies including electromagnetic energy fields and frequencies, and consciousness. To improve the function, health, and organization of the body's energy system, making long-lasting positive changes in these areas is effectual.
Much difficulty lies in really adopting and incorporating these changes into our life. The body's energy system both affects and is affected by our thoughts and mental processes, meaning that imbalances in our energy system can give rise to imbalances in our thought patterns, which in turn continue to drive the energetic imbalance which caused the negative thought patterns in the first place. Often people find themselves subject to and at the mercy of their mindstate, lifestyle, and emotions caused by imbalances in their thought patterns. Changing thought patterns, truly healing from traumatic events, permanently adopting lifestyle changes, and making changes to our environments can be exceptionally difficult. While many people truly want to experience such change, it can be so difficult that unfortunately we often only see those people succeed who are in such full expression of their physical symptoms that they have been faced with their own mortality and thus have a deeper level of motivation to truly incorporate such changes into their life and way of being. Humans, as creatures of habit, frequently experience resistance and difficulty into discarding negative habits and adopting more positive ones. Added to this is the fact that we live in a systemic polluted environment, where our water, air, and food, all contain formidable toxins for the body to contend with. Given these factors, many (if not all) individuals require greater assistance to positively affect and restore the balance of their energetic systems and field.
Western medicine offers very little to affect the energetic systems, and in fact is still catching up to its brother Western science, which has made great strides (among many an ignorant critic, even within its own community) in providing scientific evidence for many ancient and traditional systems and natural healing methods to affect the health of the body's energy systems. These include Ayurveda (ancient India), homeopathy, long distance healing, and acupuncture and the meridians of traditional Chinese medicine through the confirmation of the physical location of the meridian system, a.5-1.5 micron diameter tubule duct-like system in the body which carries high concentrations of hormones and bio-chemicals, and which are formed in development prior to the blood vessels and lymphatic systems. Discovered in the 1960's by Professor Kim Bong Han with repeat findings in Europe, the tubule system closest to the surface of the skin mirrors Chinese meridian charts dating back more than 3,000 years nearly perfectly. According to the Chinese, the meridians carry "Qi", a nutritive vital life force, within its vessels.
The key to understanding how to affect the energetic systems to such a degree as to cause a change that is long-lasting is in recognizing the patterning nature of our energy. Our thoughts are thought patterns, it has been said that of the 60,000 or so thoughts we have each day, over 90% are the same ones we had yesterday. When we have a negative thought, we typically repeat that thought roughly 400 times during one average waking cycle. Our minds, habits, behaviors, and ways of being are patterned ways of being, attracting similar circumstances, relationships, and people into our life. Indeed, pattern recognition is a critical part of human development and is observable everywhere in nature, from the Fibonacci spirals and golden mean ratios in flowers, plants, and animals, to the patterns in our DNA. Patterns are also observable as we view the structure and patterned arrangement of molecular formations and micro-clusters in water, which provide the basis for the popular yet controversial work on water crystals by Dr. Masaru Emoto and the predating work of Marcel Vogel, Norman Mikesell, and many other Water researchers. The patterns observable in water crystals directly relate to its quantity and quality of energy; generally speaking the more beautiful and geometrically complex the water crystal, the higher its quality and quantity of energy, which directly relates to its permeability, efficiency of conduction, and overall rate of function. Much of Dr. Emoto's work has focused on the ability of water to change its micro-cluster molecular formation based on the influence of conscious thought, intention, words, music, and prayer. The patterning nature of water is much like the patterns of bio-energy: following crystallographic patterns of geometric complexity in an instantaneous and highly responsive manner, to all external stimuli, including that of consciousness. For more information on water, I recommend a great documentary Water, The Great Mystery.
Among all known methods of positively affecting the body's energy system, both electro-magnetic and magneto-electric, it is generally accepted that consciousness has the greatest effect, whether it is the consciousness of the individual or the consciousness of a practitioner or healer. Although analytic and diagnostic tools are still being developed in this arena, in scientific studies the strength of consciousness is typically measured by the coherence, rate, and synchronization of brain wave patterns of both practitioner and patient. These are, essentially, measurements of the pattern of the brain's energy. Increase in coherence, decrease and steadiness in rate, and synchronization of brain waves are observable during states of what is considered "high consciousness" - usually in meditation by practiced meditators (including Eastern traditions and Shamanic trances) or during healing sessions by energetic or traditional healers. In modern society where the average attention span is roughly 6 seconds, few, if any, possess the consciousness training necessary to affect the patterning of the bio-energetic at its deepest level in order to achieve a truly higher state of function, health, and wellness, of body, mind, and spirit. For one could theorize that as our physical symptoms are expressions of disturbances in the energetic systems and fields, perhaps our thought processes, habits, and ways of being are expressions of our bio-energetic patterns as well. It would then stand to reason that changing our energetic systems and fields could affect us at the very deepest levels of our being - not just our experience of physical symptoms, but our experience of life, the experience of our thoughts, emotions, and perceptions.
Seeing a healer, taking up meditation, and working to increase your consciousness through varieties of methods are all wonderful steps to take in improving your life, but this is unfortunately an uphill battle approach that sees many fail. Our energetic patterns are so ingrained at our most primary level of being that attempting to repattern and redirect our bio-energetic systems and flows by making simple lifestyle changes and habitual adjustments can be one of the hardest things to do. Most healers are unable to penetrate the strong layers of the energy field of the body to reach its deeper levels of function and flows. Even acupuncture is working on lesser and most surfaced energy channels of the body, and using it to affect the 4 deeper levels of channel sets that penetrate organ systems. Learning to meditate can be long and difficult road, and it is not likely one will truly be able to consciously control and direct the body's energetic flows even through years of practice and/or formal training.
Obviously we must find ways to affect the patterns of the body's energetic systems and fields through means other than the average, or even inspired, methods of consciousness, energy therapy, or artificial frequencies. A truly natural and holistic approach is necessary, with the goal of affecting energetic patterns towards higher geometric complexity and beauty, and thus affecting the body's water, DNA, and systems towards higher function and health. Tools that amplify consciousness and transmit patterns of information that can penetrate the deepest layers of the bio-energetic system and be absorbed and assimilated by the body and its liquid crystal components are necessary for this task. Thankfully, some of the greatest scientific minds, including Tesla, Dinshah, Marcel Vogel, Wilhelm Reich, and so many others, left behind in their legacy hints and clues as to what sort of methods and approaches we must employ to truly heal ourselves amidst a time of such environmental contamination and struggle. Gratefully, in this day of the Information Age for those truly seeking answers, the truth is not that hard to find.
